Ads in RSS: Good, Bad, Ugly?
From Ask Metafilter: I run a blog-style website focused solely on a class of popular shiny plastic gadgets and I’m thinking about adding some sort of text ad to my RSS and Atom feeds. I use Google Adsense on the site itself, but AFAIK they don’t allow Adsense in newsfeeds. Blogads and Pheedo seem to […]

CrispAds Blog Ad Network
Gotta ping from Hans Chung that his company just launched a new blog ads network, CrispAds. Here’s an example of what one of their ads might look like: I’m still torn on blog adverts for this blog since I’m selling my own products and services. I’m gonna stick with hawking my own wares for now!

How To Read Your Stats and Referrers in Typepad
I am always striving to see what people REALLY want to know… not just what I think they want. To find out the real story, I frequent the Stats and Referrers page of my Typepad account almost every day. From there I can see where every hit came from in the last 24 hours. This […]

Track Legislation with GovTrack
I thought of something like this a couple months and knew others were thinking the same thing. GovTrack puts an RSS feed to track your favorite Congress-people as well as different pieces of legislation through the halls of Congress. Now I can track my elected leaders every move! Touche Ashcroft Gonzales! This is the big […]

WordPress Named Best Web App of the Year
Congrats to the WordPress crew. ArsTechnica named it the #1 web-based application of the year. I really do like tinkering with WordPress and look forward to multi-blog support (I think that’ll sky-rocket WP into the stratosphere): WordPress is the most prominent rising star of weblog software, completely free and with a large and active community. […]

Archives/Categories Page in WordPress with Kubrick
It’s no secret I’m a big fan of Michael’s Kubrick templates… I didn’t want the list of categories and archives cluttering up the left side of my front page so I moved them into a separate page. Here’s what I did.

Blog URL Forwarding
Instead of giving people the cryptic link that is hard to remember / type, I registered an easy-to-remember URL with GoDaddy ($8.95/year) and set it to Forward to my blog. So, TakingControlOfYourFeelings.com forwards to http://2gethelp.blogs.com/takingcontrol. Are others doing this, as well? Is there a better/different way?
