Today is the Day.

Ever since the first blog post back in July 20, 2000, I knew that blogging would change things for a lot of people. That yes, it’s just a diary but it’s also so much more. Blogging is a step closer to the promise of the internet: that anyone, anywhere can say anything and anyone, anywhere can hear it. As blogging matures, the tools become simpler and faster enabling us to reach across the street, or across the world with the push of a button.
Then, a year and 2 days ago I get an email from an editor at Portfolio:
Andy
I’m impressed by your blogging smarts, your platform and presence, and your Easy Bake Weblog book.
From what I can tell, you’re strictly self-published? Would you consider developing your book into a retail edition for our Portfolio imprint here at Penguin? We’re home to top notch business stuff, from Seth Godin to John Battelle to Guy Kawasaki.
I’d love to hear more about you, tell you more about us, and talk over some ideas. If you’re so inclined.
All best!
It’s been a wild year of writing, rewriting, connecting and constructing. A whole rush of blogging books is hitting the market as blogs further infiltrate and shake up business, marketing, politics and nearly any other area where global self-expression can tell truths, strengthen relationships and break down barriers.
And I am so very pleased to announce that Blogwild! A Guide for Small Business Blogging is officially published and ready to bring blogging to a whole new group of people who didn’t know the internet really was built for them.
You may have been getting this newsletter for years – maybe for days – but I thank you deeply for your support and cheerleading. The calls and emails and kudos have been overwhelming and a true testament to the power of being unabashedly yourself in business – talking to your customers the way you talk to your friends. I am grateful. Rock out with your blog out!

I purchased the book on April 6th Amazon and just received the book this weekend. I went to the site and it said the offer was over? I purchased the book exactly on the date indicated, disapointed there is no online message stating even though the purchase was the correct day, you could not redeem the coupon offer a few days later.

Hey Rick – I emailed you the correct link. I was a bit clumsy in setting things up ‘post-campaign’.
