Porn Podcast Explosion Predicted

With the arrival of the video iPod, porn is inevitable. I am curious to see if iTunes allows that as part of their paid content. I’m guessing they won’t for several reasons:

• ‘Tainting’ the Apple brand.
• No absolute way to guarantee age verification.
• Chargebacks.

I think the last one is the real reason that it won’t happen easily – or soon. Chargebacks are notorious in online porn – when credit card holders dispute charges and the credit card company usually reverses the charge, sticking the publishers with the bill. That’s one reason you can’t use Amex to buy porn (and gambling, too, I think).
