The New York Times on blogs helping bands get exposure:
- Only a few blogs have any influence (yet): Fluxblog, Stereogum, Largehearted Boy.
- Different from Napster-like file trading since the blog creates a sense of community/trust..
- Most influential force for unsigned bands is Starbucks and their selling CDs in coffee stores.
- “If everyone else is putting out horrible CD’s why not buy something from people with taste you more or less trust?”.
