Mixx: Will it become the new Digg?

As it says on their website, “Mixx is your link to the web content that really matters.” Well that may be the case as Michael Arrington of TechCrunch recently commented in a post entitled, Digg Refugees May Be Heading to Mixx. Arrington comments that, “Digg users, including top contributors, are showing an increasing amount of frustration with the Digg community, and many are leaving.”
Anyone out there using Mixx? What do you think? Do you see a future for it? Let us know your opinion.

Personally, I have had a better experience with Mixx. Unfortunately, it would seem that the “bury brigade” is trying to flex it’s muscle lately. I would think that the admin would be able to spot excessive burying and block those users who seem to have a negative agenda.
I guess that might go against the idea of a social network though.

Mixx was an awesome community at its peak. Neither Digg nor Reddit nor any of the rest of them ever had a community as sophisticated as was the one at Mixx from its inception through about late 2009-early 2010.

I’m sure going to miss it. Watching the spammers take it over, rapidly engulfing the social media site I called home in deadly spam, ultimately seizing it away from the soon-to-be refugees who had failed to heed the evacuation order issued by Mixx in January hurt like hell.

Waiting to see the new product but still reeling from the destruction of all the content we created over those years.
