Idol Gives Back (Without Context)

Does anyone else get frustrated that we spotlight poverty and AIDS on a national level and remain completely free of discussing the social and economic context of these conditions?
What if after people donated money, Fox connected the donors by phone to their representatives in Congress?
And why don’t we talk about donating towards the massive humanitarian crisis cause by the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq?
On a lighter note we’ve decided we want Annie Lennox as our new aunt who can drive us for mimosas and madeleines at Maggie Smith’s house (and Judi Dench pops in from next door).
