We learned a big lesson here: don’t expect smart, young people to do anything that you wouldn’t do yourself. Jim and I both had to admit, if we were 22 years old, we wouldn’t stick around running someone else’s cashcow for no equity, even if we earned salaries 2-3x the normal wage. We either had to let them go or give them equity.
