Private Discussion Groups Aren’t Blog Fodder

I’d followed Dave’s discussion on the LinkedIn Bloggers group about whether discussions in online forums are available for use in blog posts.
I think a big difference depends if a list’s archives are publicly available or not – and I agree with Dave that if a blog’s archives are closed then it is not a ‘public space’ and so you’ll need to secure permission before directly quoting a listmember. And in all cases, it is always good to ask permission simply as a courtesy.
But Dave, where do I get some SuperBloggerPomPoms?
