The internet company Yahoo confirmed over the weekend that it did pass on information to Chinese authorities that prompted the arrest and conviction of a Chinese journalist. Speaking at an internet conference in China, Yahoo’s co-founder and senior executive Jerry Yang said his company was obliged to comply with local law.
