Two Quick Skype Tips

I use Skype’s IM feature much more often than the voice telephony. You can tell Skype to start an IM chat whenever you double-click on a contact (the default is to start a voice call).
First go to Skype’s options panel.
Go to Tools and then Options
The General settings appear, and the options are at the top.
Select: Start a Chat
Another bugaboo is when Windows and Skype and sometimes iTunes all fight over my audio hardware. Skype allows you to ‘force’ the audio devices it uses – this is useful for before you start an audio call. You should see your headset listed in the devices (in my case a Logitech USB Headset).
Select your audio devices.
